On March 31, 2023, the First Infection Cooperation Forum of the National Center for Infectious Diseases and the First Oriental International Infectious Diseases Academic Week were held in Shanghai, in which the "Eliminating the Hazards of Tuberculosis Forum" invited Liu Jianjun, deputy director of the China CDC, Zhao Yanlin, director of the Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Center of the China CDC, Cheng Shiming, secretary general of the China Anti-tuberculosis Association, and Li Renzhong, specialistof the Department of Drug-resistant Control and Prevention of Chinese Center for Prevention and Control of Tuberculosis (CCPC), and other famous domestic specialists, discussed about the strategies and research progress of tuberculosis prevention and treatment.
On the forum, the mid-term research results of TB-TRUST (China Multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis Short-course RegimenResearch) were released for the first time, which was aimed at patients with rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis, and studied the therapeutic effects and adverse reactions of the all-oral ultra-short-course chemotherapy regimens, with totally 27 research units participating the research across the country.
This Cooperation Center is led by Director Jiang Xiangao. As an important participating unit of TB-TRUST, Nanbaixiang Hospital of Wenzhou Central Hospital (the Sixth People's Hospital of Wenzhou) won the "TB-TRUST Outstanding Organization Award".
Shi Jichan, director of No. 2 TuberculosisDepartment, was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Researcher of TB-TRUST Research".
INSPIRE-TB is a multi-center research program of short-course chemotherapy for rifampicin-resistant TB initiated by the National Center for Infectious Disease Medicine in 2022, and Wenzhou Central Hospital Nanbaixiang Branch (Wenzhou Sixth People's Hospital) was also awarded the "Outstanding Organization Prize of the INSPIRE-TB Project in 2022".
With the approval of Wenzhou Municipal Health Commission, Wenzhou Sixth People's Hospital officially set up "Wenzhou Tuberculosis Diagnostic and Treatment Center", which has been keeping up with the domestic and international academic frontier, actively carrying out tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment and research, conducting in-depth mycobacteria clinical research, actively participating in high-quality multi-center clinical research, carrying out new drug-resistant testing technology and new chemotherapeutic regimens, and continuously promoting clinical translational research. The center has actively promoted the application of new technologies and methods for tuberculosis diagnosis, improved the prognosis of tuberculosis patients and controlled the spread of tuberculosis by early diagnosis and treatment, and fully played its leading role in the field of tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment in Wenzhou, making positive contributions to promoting the development of health undertakings and improving people's health and well-being.
The cooperation with National Center for Infectious Disease Medicine (NCIDM) actively explores the optimized treatment of multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and new chemotherapeutic protocols, and successfully manages and cures drug-resistant tuberculosis patients with a short-course protocol, which is highly praised and commended by the NCIDM. In the future, the Center will continue to carry out research in the field of tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment with the National Center for Infectious Disease Medicine to improve the academic level of tuberculosis peak discipline in Wenzhou City.
