Founded in 1986, Emergency Medicine Department of Wenzhou Central Hospital is one of the earliest emergency departments established in south Zhejiang. Now it is the key discipline of emergency medicine in Wenzhou, the unit affiliated to Wenzhou Emergency Medicine Quality Control Center, the national-level training base of emergency medicine for standardized training of resident doctors,the advanced stroke center of tNational Health Commission, the certified chest pain center of China Chest Pain Headquarters, the executive member unit of Zhejiang Provincial Emergency Medicine Quality Control Union, and the vice-chairman unit of Wenzhou Medical Combination of China Emergency Medicine Partnerships.

There are 23 physicians, 3 chief physicians, 5 deputy chief physicians, with emergency rescue room, EICU, emergency ward, emergency surgical ward, with a total of more than 60 beds, an annual volume of 130,000 emergency visits, and the number of annual resuscitation of more than 10,000 people. The department is equipped with cardiopulmonary resuscitation machine, invasive and non-invasive ventilator, mild hypothermia therapeutic instrument, bedside hemofiltration machine, bedside ultrasound machine, bedside electronic bronchoscope, antithrombotic pressure pump, extracorporeal vibration sputum ejector, etc.. It carries out such emergency treatment techniques as cardiopulmonary-cerebral resuscitation, advanced airway management, mechanical ventilation, cerebral infarction thrombolysis, bedside endoscopic therapy, bedside hemopurification, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and bedside ultrasound evaluation.
